Originally built as a military tank assembly plant, the building features solid steel and concrete construction, extensive security capabilities, and 8.6 MW of critical IT power load. The building underwent award-winning upgrades for its friction pendulum system, which isolates the base of the building from its floors, ensuring critical operations are maintained throughout and after a major seismic event. As a result, the building has achieved “essential facility” designation according to applicable building codes. This Data Center also operates as a carrier-neutral facility, enabling access to major carriers, internet exchanges, and cloud hubs within the region. Connectivity is facilitated within its meet me room, atop a neighboring roof with a significant line of sight, and via Digital Realty Metro Connect service to other Digital Realty facilities in the Bay Area.
